AAIB Interim Statement on the Progress of Investigation into the Accident Involving Air India Flight AI-171
- Air India Flight AI‑171, a Boeing 787‑8 on the Ahmedabad‑London route, crashed shortly after take‑off on 12 June 2025; the AAIB is investigating under the Aircraft (Investigation of Accidents and Incidents) Rules 2017 (as amended) and ICAO Annex 13 standards.
- A preliminary report was released on 12 July 2025; over the past year the AAIB, with accredited experts, has examined aircraft systems, flight‑data and cockpit‑voice recorders, engine components, maintenance and operational records, and is integrating these findings for a final safety‑focused report.
